Chalk Art

I needed a little something for teacher gifts this year to go along with the gifts cards I had gotten. I don't like to just give a gift card and nothing else. So I was inspired by all of the chalk art on Pinterest like this one.

Since my kids attend a Christian school, my version is a Christmas bible verse.

Sorry about the lighting. I bought these little slates and painted the edges silver. I should have primed them first, but this was kind of last minute.  It's not perfect, but it's done.

Please Be Patient

I'm working on a post detailing all of our Christmas decor. I should have it up by Sunday, but possibly tomorrow. Please come back and check it out.

Christmas Decorating

I spent a lot of time this year getting my house just so. I'm just going to get right to it with the pictures.

This is my dining room, although we eat in this room every day. I took a panorama shot with my iPhone5. I really like that feature on the new iPhone.

Here are some close ups with my regular camera.

With the gray venetian plaster walls, I thought gold and silver was a good choice for the theme in this room.

Many of the ornaments from this tree came from the Dollar Tree. Have you seen the nice ornaments they have this Christmas. Most look more expensive than just a dollar.

This mantel is huge. You don't feel the full effect in a picture. The mantel is 10 feet long.

This is my nativity. It's a metal cutout.

I dressed up my lampshades with a little gold and silver too.

Stay tuned for the Family Room and the rest of the house coming soon.

Fa La La La La

I know some people think it's horrible to talk about Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving, but when you have a lot of decorating to do, you need to start early. I don't do outside decorations before the day after Thanksgiving, but I'm having 2 big parties at my house in early December so I'll be starting in a couple of weeks inside my house. Since I also sell wreaths and will be doing a couple of Holiday markets this year, I am in full swing Christmas right now. Here is a cute girlie wreath I made a little while ago. I thought these colors would be so cute together. Here is what I started with.

This wreath was made on a 30 inch work wreath form. The mesh and the form are from my wholesale supplier, but the other items are from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon is from Sam's Club. They have great ribbon, mesh and ornaments at Sam's.  And all for a great price.

I learned this new technique of rolling the mesh and attaching it to the work wreath with a pouf in the middle. I haven't seen anyone else selling wreaths with this technique. If you want me to do a tutorial on this new technique, leave me a comment and I'll try to do one next week. Here is the completed wreath.

This wreath is available in my Etsy shop. You can find the link on my sidebar. I'm linking to Kristen's Creations Share your Creations Party stop by and see what everyone is creating this week.

Nature Inspired

I decided to forgo all the metallic and glitz this time around and go for something that seemed more natural. I think of fall as a time to be outdoors and enjoy the cool crispness in the air. It's all about getting back to nature.

This wreath is made with a new product called paper burlap deco mesh.  I went to an educational seminar a couple of weeks ago and learned this new mesh rolling technique. It's a little different than the regular rolled technique and is really stunning when using more than one color. I'm thinking about doing a tutorial next week. Leave me a comment if you would like to see that.

I love these sunflower and berry picks.

I thought that little pumpkin was adorable too.

Falling for Fall

The weather hasn't quite turned cold here in northern Florida yet, but I love fall so much I had to start making wreaths.

This copper and brown mesh was just what I needed. I love animal print, and this ribbon goes so well with the mesh.

These glittered gourds and pumpkins were the finishing touch on this wreath.

This wreath is sold already but it wasn't a custom order. Five minutes after posting it on FB it was sold. If you are interested in a similar wreath please let me know and I can do a custom order just for you.
